The day starts with an overview on more recent times before we take you back to 1870 when railway workers and their families worked, played and died overshadowed by Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside.

The Ribblehead Visitor Centre café is open from 9 am until 4 pm.

We leave from the station yard at 12.20 for the outdoor drama. ‘ Mischief in the Navvy Hut’ which starts 12.30 at Batty Green. This is followed by a 4 mile walk incorporating the shanty site tramways, the remains of the industrial heritage and the history of the viaduct; ending with a fossil hunt in its limestone blocks.
