The Settle-Carlisle Railway Conservation Area (SCRCA) is a 78-mile section of mainline railway in northwest England that is considered to be an area of special architectural and historical interest.
The Trust has helped restore the famous Ribblehead Viaduct, fundamental to the line’s future. We have long leases on three stations and own the Station Master’s House at Ribblehead. Our priority is to maintain the buildings and structures and work on new projects when funding is available.
Dent Station has a great railway history and many historians and railway enthusiasts will be familiar with the history and evolution of the Settle and Carlisle railway.
