For groups who are confident using the train but would like a packaged ‘day out’ with guides, activities, refreshments, room hire at a station, presentations etc then we are very happy to tailor make your visit to the line.

Examples of packages include:

  • U3A Old Buildings Group trip from Settle to Armathwaite with an on train guide, hot food delivered onto the train, guided group visits to Armathwaite Signal Box and the Chapel of Christ and St Mary and a Q&A session on the return trip.
  • Wild Ingleborough – walk on the wild side and learn about the history and botany of this magical nature reserve. Travel to Ribblehead and meet an expert guide from the Wild Ingleborough project who will introduce to the site and the background whilst you enjoy afternoon tea at Ribblehead Visitor Centre before taking a walk across to the reserve to walk off the cake and see for yourselves the wild beauty of the area and the unique work being done to manage the site.
  • Shanty towns, Navvies and Life Along the Line – Visit Ribblehead or Settle and hear from local experts about the lives lived by the men, women and children who were involved with the railway right from the start. Historical theatre pieces in costume bring the stories to life and create a memorable experience for all ages.
