Kirkby Stephen Station

One of the three ‘large’ stations on the line in an elevated position near the market town. Now two holiday lets.

Kirkby Stephen is one of three ‘large’ stations (along with Appleby and Settle) serving the busy nearby market town, accessed by a good footpath. Like the other stations acquired by the Trust, it is on a 125 year lease. Restoration was completed in 2004 and opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2005. In the same year it won The Railway Heritage Trust Conservation Award.
